Re: Explorer.exe runtime error

Thanks for your help.

Version 1.4.0 fixes this bug, due to HEX encoded values splitted over more than one line.
It also adds PDF keywords support and (hopefully) fixes setup freeze.

Please check it out.

Re: Explorer.exe runtime error

Hi! Thanks for quick answer! I tried to install new version and in fact it no longer causes runtime error, but it doesn't properly "parse" PDF metadata. Please look at attached screenshot - metadata from the same file read by Adobe Reader and read by your plugin in Windows Explorer (Windows 8.1 x64).

You can see that:

  • author was properly parsed ["Autorzy" in Polish]
  • subject is not properly parsed (after 25 characters there are invalid characters in the property) ["Temat" in Polish]
  • title is not displayed at all ["Tytuł" in Polish].

Could you please take a look at this problem?

Explorer.exe runtime error

I installed your PDF Property Extension and I really like it! However, today it caused 'explorer.exe' runtime error on my PC. It happens when:

  • I try to open details of the file (right mouse click on the file)
  • I enter the folder with the file (if the folder has view set to details and columns containing PDF metadata are chosen)

I've attached screenshot of the error and the PDF file (archived, because I couldn't attach PDF file to the post) which causes the problem. Could you please take a look at it?
Adobe Reader and other PDF readers cope with this file very well and display all the metadata field correctly.

Thanks in advance for your help!
