I already tried VirtualMIDISynth with Midifile Optimizer, anyway I gave it another try with newer 1.5.0 VMS version.
Midifile Optimizer 7.3.0 trial seems to work well on my side; "work" means it is seen as available device and it plays a MIDI over it.
Then I downloaded the latest Midifile Optimizer version available (7.4.1.9296 trial) and it works too.
What you mean with doesn't work? It's not seen, it crashes, it doesn't play...?

I can hardly understand what you mean...
Are you saying that you can't hear controllers like release, attack, cutoff, resonance?
If so, that could be an issue on the underlying BASS library that VMS uses for MIDI synthesis.
Could you please try to play your MIDI with XMPlay + MIDI Plugin.
This light player comes from Ian Luck, the author of BASS library, so it have the same features as VMS.
It just run out of the box, no installation required.
