Re: Deploy-able VIA GPO?

Thanks for reporting it.
Will think about releasing both .exe and .msi with future updates...

Re: Deploy-able VIA GPO?

Thanks Claudio!  I was able to create a working MSI using Smart Packager by 'Scalable' using the 'Discover' option.  Both those tools 'record' changes (create snapshots) to a system before and after you install in order to create the package.  I think that 'AppDeploy' just missed something where 'Smart Packager' did not.

I have now tested deployment to 10 PCs using a GPO and 5 using MDT and 5 using our Kaspersky Console.  All 20 are functioning perfectly!!!

You have written a very useful tool that quite obviously HAS business environment applications.  For us it's for internal management of our massive .PDF product manual and technical documents library.

Thank you very much!!!

Re: Deploy-able VIA GPO?

I have an .msi that I used to deploy PDFPropertyExtension at work.
It's mostly a wrapper around the original .exe installer, nothing more, so I suppose is not so different than the one you've built with your tool.

I haven't published it just because I haven't thought my tool to became so useful in a business environment ;)
Will change my mind.

Anyway the missing TAG is not related to the setup mode.
Setup only configures the default properties shown by Explorer on file popup tooltip and bottom bar.
The best way to show all of the managed metadata is to open file Properties | Details tab.
If the metadata you're looking for does not appear then it's because PDFPropertyExtension doesn't handle it.

Feel free to post a sample PDF (together with the expected result) here (or privately through the contact form).

Deploy-able VIA GPO?

We have been trying to figure out how to best do this and were wondering if you have an .MSI package available so that we may deploy it VIA GPO?  We have already tried using AppDeploy Repackager to record and build an MSI and though it did install and create the extended propeties view, it did not display(READ) the 'TAG' metadata we are trying to manage in our PDF library.

We have a small team experimenting with organizing our extensive PDF library using TAGS and sorting VIA File Explorer and found great success with this tool.  Now it has been suggested that all our PCs have this extension installed which number over 100....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?  Maybe we could manage a contribution to the developer :)
