Uninstalled virtualmidisynth and Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth is very quiet

Uninstalled virtualmidisynth and Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth is very quiet

For testing purposes I uninstalled virtualmidisynth and rebooted the computer as requested. Now the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth plays percussion only, I thought at first, but after cranking the volume all other instruments are very very quiet. What has virtualmidisynth changed and what do I need to change back so Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth plays normally again?

Problem solved. Nothing to do with MS wavetable or virtualmidisynth. I seem to have no option to edit my original post.
