Would be nice if I could get Foobar2000 to use the virtualmidisynth settings, as well. I hate windows media player.
Check out FalcoSoft SoundFont MIDI Player.

I'm going to update my test environment to Win10-1709 (Fall Update) in a few days; will check it out.

Just checked on a fresh Win10-x86-1709 install and can't reproduce the reported bug.
I suggest to remove both VirtualMIDISynth and MIDIMapper and reinstall them from scratch.
You could also manually check that everything was removed by following the steps reported in VirtualMIDISynth FAQ here.

Overly-paranoid virus scanner?

Going to reinstall both on my main computer soon.
Heads up, Bitdefender really does not like the new MIDIMapper and even tried to trash my browser history when I extracted it.

The crappy Windows 10 Fall update just installed. MidiMapper doesnt see VirtualMIDISynth, even after reinstalling both. Teh only thing MIDImapper sees is the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth.
