looking for decompressed sound fonts

Hello, I am new to this forum.  I have Virtual Midi Synth and am looking for where I can find some already-decompressed sound fonts; as I am blind, I am unsure as to how to use a decompressor to uncompress any SFARK files into SF2 files to add to the Virtual Midi Synth; any help on finding sources of uncompressed sound fonts is appreciated; thanks very much.  Peter Russillo

Re: looking for decompressed sound fonts

Well, it's really hard to find already decompressed sf2 files online because, being those files large, webmasters always try to reduce their download size (network traffic is one of the things you're charged for on any web site hosting plan).

Actually the only SF2 files I know that are available uncompressed are these ones:

TimGM6mb (SourceForge download link)
ChoriumRevA (about 19.6 MB)
WeedsGM3 (about 26,5 MB)

These soundfonts are small in size but quite good in quality.
For better quality results you need to "unpack" the others listed on VMS page using tools like sfPack or sfArk (which, I know, are not so... intuitive ;))
