Re: Intermittently MIDI doesn't play

Solved...I think.  Cakewalk's Sampling rate was set to 192000.   I think that value gets sent to the synth...and paralyzes it.

I set the Sampling rate to what it said was the default (44100) but it showed a message that it didn't like that and set itself to 48000.  And it's working.

[SOLVED] Intermittently MIDI doesn't play with Cakewalk

I have sound fonts loaded.

I looked at your trouble shooting guide and zeroed in on this:

" Open the MIDI Mixer while playing (double click on VirtualMIDISynth systray icon) and check if the output level indicator near the master volume is active. "

Note the image:  The little green light near the '1' blinks when I press a MIDI key so data is getting to the mixer but there is no output!

I've also tried MIDI-OX and see both input and output messages but no sound.

Any ideas?  Thanks
