MIDI Synth and Bluetooth

I'm using VirtualMIDISynth v2.01 with Synthesia v10.2 and a keyboard to play
music. I'm running Windows 10 Home x64 v1703 on a laptop. Here's a link to
amazon with the exact type of laptop I've got.

The issue I have occurs when using a pair of bluetooth headset. Sometimes
when notes are played on the keyboard, or through Synthesia with my laptop
keyboard, there's excessive stuttering. At other times however, notes can be
played in succession without stuttering, although there is a delay between
notes being pressed on the keyboard and sound being played through the
headset. Stuttering doesn't happen when the output buffer is increased to
250ms, however this makes playing on the keyboard impossible due to latency.
However, playing MIDI files through windows media player with this MIDI synth
seems fine.

These issues aren't present when the output is set to the speakers on the
laptop. The buffer can be set to 0 and there is no stuttering or delay, even
when a lot of notes are being played.

I usually always use this headset, and I haven't noticed latency issues when
doing other things, (eg. gaming, watching videos).
If it matters, this is the headset I use,
(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00STP86G8/), this is the cable I use to
connect the keyboard to my laptop,
(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003KXEDVQ/), and this is the keyboard I
have, (http://i.korg.com/sp170s).

Does anybody have any idea why this seems to happen when playing my keyboard, and
if there any ways to alleviate this issue?
