VirtualMidiSynth 2.4.0 installer can't write to registry on Windows 8.1 x86

Hello. Trying to install VMS on Win8.1 x86, have noticed that all files are copied but nothing is written to registry. Not HKLM\Software\CoolSoft VirtualMidiSynth key, no entry in drivers32 and not eaven uninstall entry. Other software are installing grate (including your midi mapper), also this version of VMS have installed correctly on other OSes. No errors in install log, also watched with procmon - no attempts to write or read from these reg keys. What i'm doing wrong?

Tried also safe mode and compatibility settings - no luck.

Finally installed 2.3.2 succesfully, then upgraded to 2.4.0. Files are upgraded, but version in registry remains 2.3.2.

Thanks! Don't using in legacy os or vm, so haven't looked in that thread because it's not obvious.

Btw, why 1by1 player blocks installation? It doesn't using midi synthesizers, but bassmidi library by itself to play midi, so should not block vms.

Maybe it enums available devices and keeps them in use... just guessing ;)
