VirtualMIDISynth 2.4.1 ?

Hi,

A new version of VirtualMIDISynth (version 2.4.1) is available on the website (https://coolsoft.altervista.org/en/virtualmidisynth#download).

However, it is not in the history list and there is no thread in the forum. Some antivirus softwares detect malware in it :

gdata :25.17123 25.17123 2018-05-20 Win32:Evo-gen

Question : Could you please confirm these are false positives ?

Thanks

P.S. Your software is great. Thank you very much.

Re: VirtualMIDISynth 2.4.1 ?

You're right, I forgot to update version history, sorry ;)

As for the virus reports, well, this is a lost battle for me (I also wrote a blog post sometime ago).
VirtualMIDISynth (and CoolSoft MIDIMapper too) were more subject to false positives - I suppose - because they install some components under "sensitive" system folders like System32 and SysWOW64.
Acting like that they seem more suspicious than other executables...

I publish VirusTotal report links next to each download, knowing that it shows some positiveness... that's the only way I've found to be cristal clear with my users ;)

Thanks. I knew about false positives but... there were a bit more false positives than usual and, mainly, history wasn't updated and there was no thread in the forum so I asked myself if the website had been hacked. This is why I asked in the forum. Thanks again for your reply and your wonderful software.
