sound delay to/from Korg keyboard

I just installed VirtualMIDISynth...  It works well, except that I have a delay (about 1/4 second) between a keyboard strike and sound through the computer speaker.  Also, when playing a MIDI file with piano keyboard for piano and computer speakers for all other instruments, the piano output is about 1/16 second out of phase with the music to the computer speakers.  I have adjusted the "additional output buffer" to various values from 0 to 1000 ms, but without success.  Here are my details:

Operating system version, including service pack and bitness (32 or 64 bit)

Windows 7 Home Premium ver.6.1.7601 service pack 1

CPU type and RAM:

AMD Athlon II,170 u processor,  single core, 2000 MHz, single logical processor, 3 GB RAM

Sound card type

Realtech High Definition Audio, current driver

VirtualMIDISynth version installed

2.1.0  Oct. 31, 2017

MIDI Software and soundfont you're using to play

Sonar Home Studio 4 XL

FluidR3_GM.SF2

Keyboard

Korg piano, Concert C-7500

Keyboard interface

Yamaha UX16-1  (USB)

Sonar Midi Devices

Inputs                                     Outputs

Yamaha UX16-1                      Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth

                                              Yamaha UX16-1

                                              Microsoft MIDI Mapper

                                              VirtualMidiSynth #1

Options Additional Output Buffer     250 ms (default)       (have tried  0, 1000)

Re: sound delay to/from Korg keyboard

Well, you've already checked what whould have been my first suggestion: "Additional Output Buffer" option.

Other issues leading to sound delay are slow IO and low CPU power.
Can't express on the former, but the latter seems really low (are you sure about it?).

A single-core processor, even with a good quantity of RAM, could not be enough to let VMS run without issues and stuttering.
