Unable to get VirtualMidiSynth to work with Musescore 3

Hi,

I have tried several ways to get the current VMS to work MS3 (https://musescore.org/en/download) but with no avail. Musescore doesn't list VMS as an option for Midi output. Installing CoolSoft MIDIMapper didn't help. I read about people being successful with older versions of VMS, which suggests that it might be a bug in VMS.

Thanks,

Sam

I think musescore uses it's own soundfond bank (which I think you can replace)

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

So the issue was with Musescore. The newest release has fixed the issue (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/developers-handbook/release-notes/rele...)

After comparing the Musescore score and VirtualMidiSynth soundfont engines, I am staying with Musescore as there is less latency.

Internal synth will make the MIDI chain as short as possible.
I agree, this should be the best option you have ;)
