The original icon comes from nuoveXT-2.2_KDE, an LGPL icon pack.
It actually does not provide any "source" file, so having the Photoshop/GIMP file should be great for me ;)

Thanks again

@Jovet: thanks for your work, will add it to next version.

Beta of 2.8 version will be available in a few hours (or days...) on the Annnouncements forum.

Re: 256x256/32-bit icon

I got to looking into VMS's icons after running across this thread.  I noticed that the icons don't have any proper alpha blending, and that the 'new' 256 pixel icon has a fixed, white background.  Since I've not been able to contribute monitarily towards this software which I do love, enjoy, and rely on...I thought I might try and contribute in another way.  I have redrawn the icon (very closely to the original) and expanded upon the image formats available to include almost all of the formats suggested as required by Microsoft.  Attached is the result.  Feel free to use any or all parts/formats of this icon as you see fit, but the 256x256 icon should be the biggest improvement.  If you would like other formats (such as 24x24 or the recommended 48x48) or the Photoshop source files, let me know.  Thank you so much for your hard work on VirtualMIDISynth—I don't know what I'd do without it!

Re: 256x256/32-bit icon

Actually the highest available resolution included in VMS icon is 64x64x32bit.
I've noticed it had some "dirty pixels" that should cause those black points I can see in your screenshot.

I've fixed them and also added a 256x256x32bit version of the same icon; that should give a better result when Windows resizes it...

You'll find the new hi-res icon in next version.

Thanks for your report.

256x256/32-bit icon

Relatively simple request (as long as the artist is available), but I thought it would be nice if the icon for VirtualMIDISynth was properly sized to make the most use out of modern (Vista onward) Windows. As it stands, the 64x64/8-bit icon actually causes some artefacting when my device is set to 125% scaling on Win10 (see attachment).
