Error 2 while resetting MIDImapper settings during install

I get this error when installing VirtualMIDISynth on my windows 7 machine.

When I go past it, it eventually complains that the MIDI driver was not properly installed and would I like to fix it.

I say yes but then that fails and the wholeinstallation is deemed unsuccessful.

What might be the problem?

Re: Error 2 while resetting MIDImapper settings during install

There's a bug in 2.7.0 setup that throws an error if the MIDIMapper registry does not exist (up to Windows 7); it will be fixed in 2.7.1 soon.

Meanwhile you could workaround it by running the .reg file included in the attached ZIP file (extract it on desktop and double click hotfix.reg file).
After that, run VirtualMIDISynth setup again and it shouhld complete successfully...

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately I can't get the attachment you added.

I did register but I cannot see any button or place to log in.

???

Edit: Looks like the one click registration doesdid not work as expected. I am on it now.

The error is indeed gone!
