MIDIMapper not recognizing VirtualMIDISynth

Hi, I'm pretty new to working with MIDI. I set my digital piano as a MIDI input and I'm trying to set VirtualMIDISynth as a MIDI output. I've downloaded MIDI-OX to try and accomplish that, and using that I set my digital piano as an input and CoolSoft MIDIMapper as an output. From what I understand, I have to set VirtualMIDISynth as the default MIDI device in MIDIMapper. However, VirtualMIDISynth does not appear in the drop-down menu. The only two options are Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth and Digital Piano. All the tutorials I've looked at say to select VirtualMIDISynth in the drop-down menu. Am I doing something wrong? How can I set VirtualMIDISynth as my default MIDI device in MIDIMapper?

Re: MIDIMapper not recognizing VirtualMIDISynth

Can you please confirm the versions of MIDIMapper, VirtualMIDISynth and Windows?

Please note that I've released a new version of both MIDIMapper (2.0.1) and VirtualMIDISynth (2.10.0) in these days, so please check you're using the latest ones...

Re: MIDIMapper not recognizing VirtualMIDISynth

I'm running Windows 10 Home 2004, VirtualMIDISynth 2.9.3, and MIDIMapper 2.0.1. The issue stopped occurring; I think it was because I was running MIDI-OX at the same time, but I'm not sure.

Re: MIDIMapper not recognizing VirtualMIDISynth

On Windows 10-2004 you should install VirtualMIDISynth 2.10.0.
It fixes an issue, specific to 2004, that "removes" the driver at each reboot.

Further details here and here.
