Occasional MIDI Stutter?

I mostly use VMS with DOSBox for playing general MIDI games, and as far as I've tested, I don't think this is a DOSBox problem.

Everyonce in a while, while I'm playing a game in DOSBox, I get notable stutter in the midi, causing DOSBox's video output itself to stutter simultaneously.
It's not at any regular intervals or certain situations, but it's enough that it's noticeable and very annoying.

My first suggestion is to get a CPU usage analysis of your system, to check if something is causing a CPU usage spike at that time.

You can use Process Explorer for this (a free and advanced Task Manager), and be sure to show the CPU History column to show the CPU usage of each process.
