Quick test: could you try to install VanBasco player and check if it can see the "MS GS Wavetable Synth"?
CoolSoft MIDIMapper uses the same algorithm as VanBasco to compose its MIDI devices list so, if both can't see that device, there could be something wrong on your system.

I will try that and let you know. Thanks!

I did as you suggested and the VanBasco player does not list the GS Wavetable as an output device. There is indeed a problem with Windows 10 somehow hiding or no longer compatible with the MSGSWT. If you get anymore information regarding this issue please post it, thanks! Maybe your CF synth would work?

MS Synth should be visible in Device Manager (Win+X) under Software devices branch.
If not, then something wrong is happening on your system so you should try fixing it with the usual tasks (sfc /scannow, ...)

Of course it will; and it will be much more better than the MS one (not because I wrote it but because it's a SF2 synthesizer instead of the worst FM synth).

My MSGSWTS indeed is listed in the device manager as a 'working' software device.
However, the Windows Media Player playing a midi piano file moves the blue progess bar but, generates no sound.
My PC is an Acer RL85 with Acer installed Windows 10.
Another tidbit is my wifes HP laptop with HP installed Windows 10 plays the same midi file pefectly using the WMP.
I have checked and rechecked many items with no success.
Thanks, dg

I have downloaded your VMS which has solved my missing MSWTS. It is working fine, thanks!
