Master volume is too quiet

Hello there,

This is precisely what I was looking for after finally having to give up the Awe32/64/Audigy line of creative cards, which have always had awesome MIDI. The only issue I've run into so far is that the final output is very quiet. It's audible, but the is far quieter than all the remaining system sounds. I already have the virtualmidisynth mixer at max volume.

In future versions, would you please consider amplifying the output?

Never heard about it, need further info

Hi Squish, I've neved received feedbacks about VMS volume being quiet.

I'd like to further investigate on it before implementing your request.
Could you please follow this checklist and provide the required info?

  1. please give info about your Operating System, Soundcard and MIDI Player
  2. which Soundfont are you using? have you tried another one with the same results?
  3. how about the level meter on VMS MIDI Mixer: does it reach the red (or at leas the yellow) zone?
If yes, the VMS is outputting the audio at its maximum, so the issue has to be found elsewhere.
On Vista/7 the Mixer is per-process: please open the full Audio Mixer (right click on volume icon and select "Open mixer") and set all the sliders to the max.
