Re: display pdf tags in explorer unclosed in quotes

Thank you very much for your help. That beta version works perfectly on all the files I have tested.

The files are indeed auto generated scans from a fujitsu scansnap 500, however the issue seems to be when the tags are added using master pdf 4 on linux.
When tags are added using acrobat on windows they displayed fine.

Regardless it is sorted now and I am extremely grateful as it has saved us hours of work retagging them all.
I have produced a small file around 600k with no personal info on it that didn't work before but does now.
I have attached it and am happy for it to be added to your test files.

I will also drop you a donation via paypal as a thank you for your work.

Thanks again.

Re: display pdf tags in explorer unclosed in quotes

Thanks for the new test file.
I've seen it contains an unusual PDF dictionary format, not yet (correctly) managed by PDFPropertyExtension.

(I've removed your forum attachments because it seems they contain some kind of "reserved/private data".)

Attached here you'll find version 1.15.0-beta1 that should fix it (at least it does on my side).
Please check it out and confirm that it works correctly on all of your files.

If it doesn't, feel free to send another sample file using the private contact form.

Waiting for your feedback to release version 1.15.0 final.

PS: I suppose your files came from some kind of automated scan process.

Do you have, or could you generate from scratch, a smaller (< 1MB) and "neutral" (no names, dates, personal data) one for me?
I'd like to add it to test files collection for future tests...

Re: display pdf tags in explorer unclosed in quotes

thanks very much for the reply, I have figured out the issue with the last file I sent.
I had modified it with acrobat and that seemed to fix the problem.
I have attached a screenshot of what I am seeing and also some test files that have the issue.

Re: display pdf tags in explorer unclosed in quotes

It seems that PDFPropertyExtension shows the Tags content correctly (without quotes), at least on my side.
In the attached screenshot you can see what my Explorer shows for the test file you've sent (Win10-latest), both in Explorer detail view and in File Properties dialog.

Please elaborate your question if I've misunderstood it...

display pdf tags in explorer unclosed in quotes

Hi there, firstly thank you for producing such a useful application to do something that windows really should do as standard.

I have several thousand scanned pdf files which have had tags added using master pdf editor.
I am using linux and the tags are displayed using the nautilus file manager with the nautilus colums add on.
We now need to examine these pdfs in windows and I was hoping to use PDF property extension to see the tags in explorer as a glance.

Unfortunately this is not working. I have determined that when I open the files using adobe acrobat and examine the metadata there seems to be quotes inserted before and after the keywords by master pdf editor, though these are not visible using master pdf editor only acrobat.
If I remove the quotes using acrobat then the tags appear as normal in windows explorer.

As there are many thousand pdfs manually removing the quotes is not an option.

I have attached a sample file for you to see.
Thank you for any help.
