VirtualMIDISynth 2.12 - Release candidate

This thread will contain next VirtualMIDISynth 2.12 beta releases.
PLEASE POST BUG REPORTS OF BETA VERSION IN THIS THREAD, DO NOT START NEW ONES ;)

Main change in ver. 2.12 is the full High DPI support for dialogs.
It allows VMS to be properly shown on screens with resolutions higher than FullHD (and/or with zoom levels set higher than 100%...).

UPDATE: VirtualMIDISynth 2.12.0 has been released, this thread is closed!

Re: VirtualMIDISynth 2.12 beta

So sorry for the late reply I've been rather busy. I'm sorry to report that there is no change on my end. It's still doing the same thing. The zoom fuction can't even be used unless High DPI is being forced on by the system at which point is redundent

Re: VirtualMIDISynth 2.12 beta

Please remove the override and let VMS appear to the system as mixed-HighDPI aware.

Only MIDI Mixer has a complete support, so it scales correctly.
Other windows should be scaled by the OS (till I fix them).

I still have to use the override, otherwise this happens

Re: VirtualMIDISynth 2.12 beta

Ok, maybe I've got it.
It seems that Mixer position/size restores the old (and now bad) size from config file.

Please try this:

  • close VirtualMIDISynth (I mean exit it)
  • remove override
  • open VirtualMIDISynth.conf configuration file with a text editor
  • go to the [Windows] section
  • delete all of the Mixer* keys (there must be one for each virtual device + one for the MidiConverter)
  • restart VirtualMIDISynth and reopen the Mixer dialog
  • it should now open in a default position with the correct size

That fixed the mixer, and the mixer window is behavhing itself, but the config window is still acting up.

Yes, I know... and I confessed it 😉

NOTE: Configurator and MIDI Converter windows are not HighDPI aware (yet), so they could still appear "blurried" on HighDPI screens.

Yes of course, sorry I might've been a bit tired and can be a little dense sometimes. Anyway is there a way to increase gain or volume for specific soundfonts?
